The Star of the King

In the night sky, a celestial herald announced the birth of the King of Kings. The Star of Bethlehem guided wise men from the East, fulfilling ancient prophecies written in the heavens themselves.

"Where is He who has been born KING of the Jews? For we saw His STAR when it rose and have come to WORSHIP Him."— Matthew 2:2

The year 3 BCE brought together a myriad of stellar conjunctions that were significant to the Wise Men. Most notable were the motions of JUPITER and the MOON.

The King planet (Jupiter or Marduk) was seen as the head of all the gods in the Babylonian pantheon. The Moon god (Sin) was the second most important planetary object and the father of the Sun (Shamash) and Venus (Ishtar).

While JUPITER'S path pointed to the exact date for the birth of the Messiah, it was THE PATH OF THE MOON (seen as father time), that AMPLIFIED the importance of the event.

"It shall be established forever like the MOON, Even like the faithful WITNESS in the sky."— Psalm 89:37
